Spanish interview with Innocence Geraldine Larrosa, closed to love after the death of Carlos Marín: “It was everything, the love of my life” MADRID, 26 Apr. (CHANCES) – Carlos Marín , soul of ‘Il Divo’, died on December 19 in a Manchester hospital due to complications derived from Covid; and, with him, a part of Geraldine Larrosa , the love of his life and with whom, after giving himself a second chance during confinement – the couple divorced in 2009 after 19 years together, but they never stopped having a close relationship – he planned to get married again at Disneyland. Four months after this very hard loss and acknowledging that it still hurts too much to talk about Carlos because “I love him very much and I miss him” – “tears come to my eyes every time they ask me… little by little, but good” confesses – the singer has reappeared at the opening of a store in the capital and has told us what she remembers most about the great love of her life: “Everything, his charisma, for me Carlos was everything, joy, he laughed a lot, he was very happy, he was very funny and he was a very good person and very kind. I will continue talking about him because he was the love of my life”. “I have many memories with him, a great friendship and love, admiration, that’s all, I miss how well we laughed. There is a very nice video clip that that day is that I couldn’t record because I laughed so much… anything we laughed, in that video you can see perfectly the complicity that Carlos and I had during these 30 years of companionship” he adds, explaining that in addition to his love and his partner, the baritone was his “master of everything, of the voice, of the life and everything. Very close to Carlos ‘s family , with whom she has constant contact – “she’s devastated, what can I tell you… she’s getting blacker every day” she reveals – Geraldine reveals that, however, she has no relationship with the members of ‘Il Divo’ : “I’m not upset, they make their life, their career and I make mine. They make their way and I’ll make mine. There is no relationship”.    “Surprised” that Carlos ‘s colleaguesreplaced him “so quickly” after his death – “he was the creator, the one who did all the harmonies… he has been very important and charismatic for the group” she highlights – the artist assures that he meets the new voice of ‘Il Divo’ but he finds it “very hard to get in there because he’s never going to replace Carlos. It has nothing to do with him”. “He is an operatic baritone and Carlos was a singer of many fields,” she notes.     And, on a personal level, how is Geraldine ? Does she feel like rebuilding her love life? The answer is clear: “Falling in love, no. Right now I am in love with my daughter and with life, which is what I have to continue because I have had to be here, it will be for a reason, surely to continue with the legacy of Carlos Marín that has fought for me , for Innocence, until the end”. A path that goes through continuing with the project that the baritone left unfinished, his album of duets with the collaboration of singers like Chenoa and Carlos Baute , which is not yet known when it will be released but, he anticipates, will be of romantic Latin American songs.
